M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I

Before we go to the Mississippi trip, here is one picture from my trip to Dallas this weekend for Wes Cooper's wedding. Wes is a dear friend of the Sharbonos, and we spent MANY hours together in college and out. Nathan was unable to go, so Heather and I loaded up and made the trek to Frisco. The wedding was SPECTACULAR. There was not a detail missing, and it was truly an event to remember. This was my first weekend away from the girls, and I sobbed for about an hour when Nathan left to take them to Thibodaux. I thought my heart was going to break....the Dallas shopping helped to ease the pain. :) Wes and Kelsey are now in Hawaii, and they get to watch the fireworks at Pearl Harbor for their honeymoon!!!!! To my sweet Cooper family...I love you all. Can't wait to see you again VERY soon!!!!!

Me, Wes, and Rebekah (Wes's sister).....
On to our Mississippi trip.....The picture below will not mean much to most of you, but it's the most beautiful picture I have ever seen. :) Tuesday morning, Nathan and I woke up trying to figure out what we were going to do with our day. On a whim, I suggested a mini roadtrip to Natchez, so we got dressed, threw everything (including our daughters) in the car, and took off. We wanted to eat at Cock of the Walk (weird name, I agree), but it was not open yet, so we went to the souvenir shop next to it. We walked in and there was an entire room full of Junior League cookbooks. If you know me even a little, you know I have an obsession with cookbooks, but Junior League ones are the greatest in the world. I LOVE them. I almost passed out when I saw this room, and I took a picture so I could sleep with it at night. ;) I think the girls ate all the dirt on the floor while I browsed through cookbooks (oops!).
We decided to try a different restaurant, so we went to Pearl Street Pasta. FABULOUS food. Here are the girls tasting our lemons....we had everyone around us cracking up (...or calling child services :) )

After a great lunch, we went to do a little historical sight-seeing. There are signs everywhere for something called "Forks in the Road." I thought it would be really interesting, so we went to find it. Well, Folks, here are the forks. Save yourself the trouble.:)

We then went to the National Cemetery. This is the view from the top of the hill overlooking the Mississippi River. Vidalia on your right...Natchez on your left.

This is the cemetery with thousands of unknown tombstones. It's very humbling to think that these men and women all died for our great nation. We owe them a mountain of gratitude.
On our way out, Nathan had to get donuts from the Donut Shop. He says they are the best donuts EVER. It was so cute...he was like a kid in a candy store trying to pick out his favorite. In the end, we got two glazed, one cinnamon/sugar, and a pecan roll. Nathan ate his four pastries in four minutes...I only got one measly bite.

Returning home to Pineville...we had such a great day together, and the girls were very well behaved. I'm totally returning for some Christmas shopping. I found some really neat stores downtown, and I bought a beautiful pewter cake dome that I have been wanting for ages. Can't wait till our next road trip, sweet husband!!!

And for those of you who know the game, Nathan won July 1st. GRRRRRRRRRR........

I love the pictures of the girls! We tried to give Asher a pickle with hopes of that reaction, but it turns out that he liked it.

Asher and I will be at home for the 4th. Something is wrong with my car... again. So, I have to bring it to the auto shop on Tuesday. I sorry that I will miss the Randall gathering. Are ya'll going, or do you have other plans?
